Davida Jet & Aviator googles

Santa’s on a Bike 2014

What a great day !

Now in its 11th year the annual Santa’s on a Bike Christmas themed ride through the heart of Bristol in aid of The Children’s Hospice (south west) .

In excess of 400 motorcycles with riders and pillions surprised the Christmas shoppers, great fun !

A bright frosty start to the day as a few of us headed down to Fowlers Motorcycles for a breakfast and meet up with a few more from the Triumph Owners Motor Cycle Club,

Once fed and watered we headed over to the main meeting point, where we joined the rest of the Santa’s and caught up with a few old friends, buying raffle tickets as well as enjoying the coffee and doughnuts  !

Setting off around 1.00 we headed through the heart of Bristol, waving at all the shoppers, blasting the horn, revving the engines and causing as much noise as possible, (in fact so much horn blasting mine stopped working, something I must look at).

The ride lasts about an hour, gets a bit slow in places as you can imagine, Mike & Jane’s bike decided to over heat a little (it wasn’t a Triumph ) but it soon cooled down enough to continue.

Meeting back up in the park and ride the majority of bikes headed up to the Hospice to sample the mince pies they had made, we headed back into Bristol to get a coffee and some cake, guided by the legend that is PJ,  part time biker with the whitest boots you’ll ever see, and part time 70’s model…….
